Pellegrino Stone Care is a family company with a long history of stone care expertise that spans three generations.

The passion for stone is in the family bloodlines. Lenny’s grandfather, Leonardo, came to the United States in the 1950s, bringing with him an Italian heritage celebrated for expertise in the stone industry. Passing his knowledge onto his son Tony, who in turned, passed it on to his son, Lenny, who took that training and passion to found Pellegrino Stone Care, more than 25 years ago. Pellegrino Stone Care remains today the most trusted and referred stone and hard surface care company in San Diego.

In the early days while Lenny was restoring stone surfaces, customers would ask repeatedly, “What should I use to clean my stone?”

Lenny knew that common household cleaners will damage natural stone, and anything marketed specifically for use on stone at the time either left streaks and fingerprints or was not readily available for consumers to purchase. Mild dish soap and water was all he could recommend, which was not ideal.

This led Lenny, with his extensive knowledge and background, to develop a cleaner and polish exclusively for stone. He gave it to customers after finishing restoration projects, and soon customers were asking for more of the magic formula. From these humble beginnings, Granite Gold Inc., was formed in 2002. Along with his first cousin Lenny Sciarrino The Granite Gold® brand was born out of three generations’ expertise in stone and quartz fabrication, installation and restoration.

Word soon spread, and a subsequent Granite Gold national consumer awareness campaign on the dangers common household cleaners pose to natural stone surfaces, catapulted sales and today Granite Gold products are sold in over 10,000 retail outlets nationwide.
